EMPOWER Project’s short-term staff training was held in İstanbul on June 15 – 17, 2022 with the participation of all partner organizations. In the training, “Training Content on Effective Disaster Management For Caregivers of Persons with Disabilities” developed within the scope of the project was presented. Training was given on how the training contents can be applied in face-to-face trainings. The suitability of the produced training contents to the target audience was evaluated. A visit was organized to AFAD and information was given about AFAD and its activities.
In the next phase of the project, the fourth transnational project management meeting is planned to be held in Milan.
The main objective of EMPOWER Project (2020-1-TR01-KA204-094078) is to increase the awareness and competencies of person with disabilities who are highly vulnerable in disasters and their caregivers on disaster management and the project is supported by the European Commission through the Turkish National Agency. The Governorship of İstanbul is the coordinator of the project.
