“EMPOWER – Empowering People with Disabilities through Effective Disaster Management Project (2020-1-TR01-KA204-094078), supported by the European Commission through Turkish National Agency under Erasmus+ Programme Adult Education and Training field, has been implemented under the coordination of Governorship of Istanbul. EMPOWER project will be implemented between 31.12.2020 and 30.04.2023.
The main aim of EMPOWER Project is to contribute to raising the awareness and improving competences of caregivers and people with disabilities, who are highly vulnerable in disasters, on disaster management.
Hosted by Governorship of Istanbul, 1st face2face Transnational Project Meeting was held in Istanbul, Turkey with the attendance of all partner institutions on 7th -8th October 2021. During the meeting, the scope of European Reference Framework on Effective Disaster Management was presented and the titles of training contents for the caregivers were discussed. As the project’s third intellectual output, accessibility features of Accessible Learning Hub and Accessible Learning Materials for People with Vision and Hearing Impairments were also discussed. The project’s second face2face transnational project meeting is planned to be held in Valladolid, Spain hosted by INFODEF on 10th -11th February 2022.
