“EMPOWER – Empowering People with Disabilities through Effective Disaster Management Project (2020-1-TR01-KA204-094078), supported by the European Commission through Turkish National Agency under Erasmus+ Programme Adult Education and Training field, has been implemented under the coordination of Governorship of Istanbul. EMPOWER project has been implemented between 31.12.2020 and 30.04.2023.
The main aim of EMPOWER Project is to contribute to raising the awareness and improving competences of caregivers and people with disabilities, who are highly vulnerable in disasters, on disaster management.
Online project management meeting was held with the attendance of all partner institutions on 28th April 2021. During the meeting, the partners presented their research about the training opportunities in disaster management field provided to professional and informal caregivers in their country.
In the next step of the project, European Reference Framework on Disaster Management for Caregivers will be developed.
